Preventing Processionary Caterpillars: A Gardener's Guide

As the season approaches for the flight of the processionary moth, now is the ideal time for gardeners to take proactive measures. Installing pheromone traps can significantly decrease the population of future caterpillars, which have caused considerable damage in the previous year.

The pheromone plays a crucial role in this strategy, as it attracts male moths that become ensnared in the traps. For effective results, it is recommended to place approximately four traps per hectare, positioning them at a height of 1.5 meters above the ground.
